LUGANSK
STATE MEDICAL UNIVERSITY
Lugansk
State Medical University, from the moments of its establishment
in 1956 till 2004, 14737 doctors and 116 nurses-bachelors
were prepared at the university. Among them there were
1723 for 52 foreign countries.
There
are 379 teachers, among them 71 doctors of sciences, including
five Honored Science and technique workers of Ukraine.
University has very good facilities. There are five buildings
for theoretical medical institutions in Lugansk. Which
are equipped at the level corresponding to world standard.
The University has every thing necessary for the organization
of welfare and leisure of students, including modern hostels,
a sports complex and a club for free time activities.
The
syllabus is aimed at six academic years. The students
master of basic disciplines of medical and biological
profile as well as various clinical subjects. On successful
completion of study graduates are qualified as physician
with the title of Doctor of Medicine. Study medium is
English.

DEGREE IS RECOGNISED BY M.C.I., W.H.O., G.M.C. AND U.S.M.LE.
This University has three libraries. The library has own
3 separate buildings. More than 5 lac copies are here.
Every year about 20 thousand new books come into library.
University has 31 clinical departments practically of
all branches such as surgery, internal diseases, anesthesiology
and intensive therapy, obstetrics and gynecology, pediatrics
and some of 24 medical institutions of Lugansk including
the regional hospital, policlinics and dispensaries. The
most different contingent of patients gets treatment there
and the University staff takes an active part in this
process. University has a very good hostel system with
fully furnished rooms, quite study environment and surrounded
with recreation center. The University posses 5 hostels
with the total area of 28431 sq. m for accommodation of
2220 students. |
